About the Teacher. Me

Luisa Rennie

'A person is neither a thing, nor a process, but an opening, or a clearing through which the Absolute can manifest.' Ken Wilber

I was first introduced to the great healing arts of yoga and meditation when on travels in Bali. Since then I have explored various traditions, including yoga from the Krishnamacharya lineage (astanga yoga, viniyoga, Iyengar yoga), sivananda yoga, yin yoga, tai chi and vipassana meditation.

While working for UNESCO in Bangkok I studied for three years with Bihar school of yoga trained yogi Adrian Cox at his wonderful studio, Yoga Elements, involving in-depth teacher training in anatomy, Sanskrit, yoga history and philosophy, chanting, pranayama (breathing techniques), asana (the postures), meditation and sequencing of poses. I achieved my first level certificate here - the 280 hours Yoga Alliance approved training.

Back in the UK, I achieved the Yoga Campus Level II Yoga Teacher Certification (accredited for 500 hours with Yoga Alliance), studying with wonderful teachers, including Mukunda Stiles, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Alexa Harris. I am now a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, a fully qualified pregnancy and post-natal yoga teacher and have most recently completed training with Birthlight in Baby Yoga, Level 2. I have been a mentor on the Yoga Campus teacher training course, assisting new teachers with their yoga teacher training. More recently I have been very much enriched by the teachings of Birthlight (Mother and Baby Yoga), Sarah Powers (Yin/Yang Yoga) and John Peacock (mindfulness and Vipassana meditation).

I draw my inspiration from my daily self practice, my students and my teachers. I have a heartfelt desire to help students to safely open their bodies, their hearts and their minds, so achieving a lighter and happier way of being.

Currently deep into Bhakti yoga with the new experience of being a mum!
